Happy Day After Labor Day!

Hiya EveryPuppy & 2-legged & 4-legged Friends,

Well, I heard that this was the "labor" day weekend. Doesn't the word "labor" mean work? Arentcha spose to enjoy a holiday?!?! Not in our house. Daddy took a good look at Cosi's & my handiwork of deconstruction in the Breakfast Room & decided that this weekend was time to start the process to bewootify the house.

On Saturday, mommy & daddy went on a 2-hr. trail ride with Charlie & Bud. Then, they went out to a builder supply place & gots wood & boards & other stuff.

On Sunday, mommy & daddy packed a lunch & went on a 5-hr. trail ride & picnic with the horsies. After that, daddy got down to work to update the trim in R Dining Room & Hallway.

Yesterday, after playing wif the horsies for just a few hours, major deconstruction occurred. You should have seen our mommy's face when daddy took the front window completely out & realized that me & Cosi were still running around the house helping daddy. She flipped out & muttered that she didn't want to lose her "babies" jumping out of the hole in the Living Room where the window should've been - meaning us - & we had to be in jail for a few hours while daddy worked on the front window surrounding trim & put the window back in.

Daddy still has to do some wall patching in the downstairs & hall way.

Then, the rest of the wall paper has to be pulled down frum the Breakfast Room. We can help wif that job! Daddy got special board for the walls instead of more wall paper & he wants to add trim there, too (which we can't help him wif).

Pee Ess: We were looking over our friends' blogs & came to my MayaMarie's blog entitled "Evacuation" http://mayamariewindow.blogspot.com/2008/08/evacuation.html. Right after reading it, R Mommy called them on their cell phone to see how they are doing. They did not evacuate cuz the roads were too jam-packed out of their area. They have water at least, but still have no electricity, & were told that it could come on anytime. We are so very glad that all of them & their home (& MM's mommy's new kitchen & double oven) & all of their belongings are safe & sound.

Woo Hoo - R Girl Got Married

R girl, Erin, married her Eric on Saturday, 8/23. It took place at Eric's (everybody & us Sibes call him Carter which is his last name - humes nicknames are funny, go figger!!!) sister's house. Mommy & daddy took these pics before the ceremony started. The photo-lady shuld have the pics up on her website within the next 2 weeks. Don't mommy, daddy & Erin look good!?!? They would look even better if we were there wif them - a little husky hair would dress any outfit up, dontcha think!!!!

Doesn't R-daddy look great in his tux & dress black cowboy boots! All that is missing is his fancy, black dress cowboy hat (Erin wouldn't let him wear it tho!)

Pee Ess: We woulda posted earlier, like last week, but mommy was talking to MayaMaries's mommy in Louisiana fur a long time & didn't turn the puter on fur us. R-mommy said that MM's mommy will be the next 'Mrs. Fields of yummy doggie cookies.' Mrs. Fields started her choc-chip cookie busines in her home & look how that took off! We can't wait til we get our order of cookies frum MM's mommy! Our mouths are watering as we think of them!!

Da Boys of Deconstruction

Hi-Woo EveryPuppy & Other 4-Legged & 2-Legged Friends,

If ya gots a "deconstruction" job around yur house, don't sweat it or do it yurself - call Da Boys of Deconstruction, Cosmos & Juneau, & we will take apart anything or place that you desire. Just ask our dad for a reference on our work - ERRRR MAYBE NOT OUR DAD!!!!!!

Well, Juni overheard a long whiles ago that mommy wanted the wall paper off of the walls in the breakfast room (where we have our crates & get our Honey Nut Cheerios for breakfast) & for daddy to paint them instead! So little by little, Juni tried to help by peeling the wall paper off. Both of us decided to take matter into our own paws, & speeded up the process as you can see:

Mommy-Marlene here - When I saw the wall & the paper on the floor, I couldn't stop laughing. Joel came home shortly after that & he just stared. I told him that Juni & Cosi were only trying to help. Joel started making a list of materials that he will need to repair some of the walls (they went a little too far!) & what he wants to do to the walls instead of putting more paper up. Juni got sprung & Cosi (who is not an innocent in this caper) were not in trouble for long.

Pee Ess - Our mommy & bro-Josh took us for our yearly visit to Met Vet. Both of us weigh in at around 54 pounds. We were talking so loud to the other puppers in their waiting room that one of the techs was very kind to escort us to a room before our time to see the doc - she muttered sumthing about peace & quiet!! No pics were taken of us getting examined. And, that was a good thing cuz sum of it was too em-bear-assing to get a pic of!

Mommy & daddy adopted me from MaPaw on February 10, 2007. Our vet told them that I was about 1-1/2 yrs. old. So mommy decided to give me a birfday date & she picked (don't knows how she came up wif it!) July 10. So today is my birfday & I'm around 3 yrs. old today. I did what I liked best to do -- & that is hang out & sunbathe in my spot in our side run.

A Tale of Woo

Cosmos here! Just to let you all know that Juneau & I are a teeny, tiny upset wif our mommy. Tuesdays are usually our blog night. But A-WOO-NOOOO - she had to get a new toy - a Zune! Our Josh showed her how to download music on a thingee called an ipod - whatever that is. Sos she liked how Josh's worked so much - he lent it to her sos she could listen to FM radio & music while on her lunch hour - she went out last night to get herself one. AND, now we only have this little itsy bit of time to say hi-woo to all of our friends while she is eating her dinner, cuz she'll hog the puter again to download more of her cd music. Here she comes to play wif the puter - how rude! It's our time!!

Marlene, here - (with Cosi & Juni helping out). Well, Cosmos has decided that it is his time to "splode" all over the house. Why couldn't he time it with Juneau?!?! But, no, he had to be different, ha ha! I must say, that Furminator does work well (as shown above). Cosi hates to get brushed, especially near his hind end. He is a 2-people furminating Sibe! Having this great breed of dogs for over 32 years (but I do love all other breeds, too), you can say that my family is a Husky Luver!

Catchin' Up

Hi-Woo Friends,

Juni here reporting. We hope all yur daddies had a Great Fathers' Day! Our daddy did! We have been having sum really nasty storms around PGH. I like to go out in the side run & stand in the rain. Now Cosi will stick his head out, then his whole body, do his business quickly & run back into the house. He doesn't like rain on him or the loud cracking thunder-boomers wif lightening.

But, Sunday, for Fathers' Day, turned out to be one bewootiful day! Mommy & daddy packed a lunch & went out to the horsies. They went on a nice trail ride in the county park, South Park, where Bud & Charlie live in a place called a boarding stable. I heard daddy say that they stopped during the ride & tied the horsies to trees & had a picnic wif mommy in a shady picnicy grove. Daddy cut branches on the trail while sitting on Bud. He is turning out to be a great Bud-dy on the trail! Mommy said that a big branch fell across Bud's neck & he didn't even get upset. They were out on the trails fur about 3 hrs. Daddy is really enjoying his little guy alot! Mommy has nicknamed him Joel's Bud-ster, hawoo!

The following 2 movies are how the horsies get cooled off on a hot day. My idea of cooling off is upsetting our water bowl & laying on the wet tiles in the kitchen. Now Cosi's idea of keeping cool is going out in the heat as little as possible & laying in the livingroom wif the house air conditioner on & keeping his furry body cool.

This is Bud getting squirted with cool water after a ride on a hot day.

And, this is Charlie getting cooled off.

Don't those 2 bros look a lot alike? If you really look closely, Charlie has a straighter back. He is taller than Bud. Whereas Bud's hair color is a light red; Charlie is a deeper red (Red Chocolate in Rocky Mt. Horsie coloring).

I would like to say "Best of Luck" to my girl's, Maya Marie's, mommy in her doggy biscuit business. Every puppy should have some fur their own! They are really yummy! Mommy says that the Cookie lady, Mrs. Fields, started her cookie business in her own home & look how that business took off!

Oh, by the way, mommy had to furminate Cosi tonight (he hates that thingee) & he sploded all over the hallway. The "joys of living wif a Siberian Husky," oh-woo my, hawoo!

Well, that's it fur now - stay cool & dry!

Happy Memorial Day & Update Ya Wif the Mullin Clan

Hi-Woo EveryPuppy & Other 4-Legged & 2-Legged Friends,

We here are all well & doing great. We can't believe that May is almost over & Da Cos & I are gonna bring ya up-to-date about the goings on wif all of us:

End of April & 1st week of May was ruff on our mommy. She knew that interviewers were checking up about her wif her professional references, but she wasn't getting any offers for work. Her former employer (& we do say that nicely, but what we are really thinking -- GRRRRRRR!) would tell her that she gave a good reference about her & lied. We knows this cuz she called mommy into her office & told her what she was actually telling the interviewers about mommy. She gave the lady 1 week's notice, but took some time off during that same week. Those last 2 weeks at the job were stressful for her & waiting to hear if she got her new job fur sure & she got that nasty skin infection again. The doctor's told her that it was due to stress. At least her blood pressure stayed normal. They caught it early with meds. In spite of that woman's sabotaging, mommy finally got a nice, new job wif a great group of people. Their HR person there was the one that called mommy to tell her that sumthing was strange about her former employer - in fact she refused to give a reference about her wif them for no reason than she didn't like the person asking the questions! Mommy had interviewed hard for this job & it finally paid off. Mommy no longer works for the Univ. of PGH. She now works for the Univ. of PGH Medical Center or otherwise known as UPMC in their Corporate Offices. She works for a Director of Clinical Support Services & Safety, Manager of Clinical Support Services, & 2 Coordinators. These women are all nurses as well. They made mommy feel very welcome. It's scary starting over & having to learn sumthing new as well as going from an academic, teaching setting to the medical side. But she is up for it & has survived her first 2 weeks there! She also had to go & get a whole new wardrobe. For 13 yrs. she was allowed to wear "casual" clothes like jeans, now at her new job she has to "dress casual" & not allowed jeans or t-shirt.

I turned the BIG ONE YEAR OLD on May 6.

Erin's birfday was on May 7; Mommy turned ** on May 10. Mommy started her new job on May 12. Oh, don't want to furget that Mommy & her Charlie Horse had their 3rd anniversary as being trail buddies also on May 12. Daddy & Mommy's 32nd anniversary was on May 18 (Woo-Hoo alot of stuff going on!!) And, don't furget Mother's Day!

Bud & Charlie Horse are still getting to know each other. Horsies just luv to roll in the dirt (so do we), especially if they get sweaty & itchy.

This Memorial Day weekend we finally had great weather so mommy & daddy could go out in the park wif Bud & Charlie. They rode the trails on Sunday for 3 hrs. (we hear Charlie was all tuckered out cuz he has to walk fast to keep up wif his younger bruther, Bud. Bud is a fast walker. Today they rode for 2 hrs. & wanted to make it back to the barn before the rain storms moved back into PGH.

We wants to thank all of you for yur support over the past 9 months fur our mommy. We all appreciate our friendship wif all of our blogging friends. You mean a great deal to us. In the next week, mommy will help us to get caught up wif all of you & stop by yur blogs.

PEE PEE ESS - WE FURGOTS ANUTHER BIG PORTANT NEWS - Our girl, Erin & her Carter set the date fur them to gets married. It will be on August 23rd. It is going to be a small wedding with family & close friends at Carter's sisters place. We can't be there, oh-woo, cuz sum family members are allergic to us Sibes & also, we thinks, that their property is not fenced in. We knows mommy will be taking her camera & will show us all of the pictures from our girl's big day!

Hangin Wif My Bro!

What is wrong wif this picture! Woo-yeah, I know Juni likes to be wif me (when he isn't terrorizing me), but come on - he's longer than his own crate that is the exact same as mine! This is my space, my crate, MY PLACE TO UNWIND BY MY WOOING SELF!! I do like being wif him, but not in such a tight squeeze.

Mommy is still job hunting. Interview people are just plain stupid (to quote our Tubey, campaign-Sibe-at-large)! Don't they know that they would be getting a great hard-working employee -- their loss! Juni & I have been keeping her spirits up. She has been giving us squirt water bottle baths when the 2 of us start getting a little ruff wif our play in the house. I hates when she does it, but if feels great when I am hot.



This is a picture of Charlie Horse (on the left wif the stripe down his face) & his bro, Bud (on the right). Daddy says that Bud looks like a mule & has a high squeal when he is being a cry-horsie, hawoo! They look like they are OK together when they are turned out & don't beat each other up. Daddy says that when they run together, Charlie & Bud put their heads up, tails go up & back, & they run side-by-side. Then you can tell that they are bros cuz they look so much alike side-by-side. Bud also snorts & horsie talks on a trail ride like Charlie does. Daddy is teaching Bud to stand still so he can get on his back. Also, to stand still when daddy says whoa (horsie talk to stop & stay). He has to learn these things like Charlie did when Mommy first got him. Charlie's anniversary with Mommy will be 3 years in May. Mommy & daddy went on a small trail ride last night after work. They saw lots of deer. One baby deer wanted to play wif the horsies. Bud did great. He has to learn to slow down his walk though. He walks faster than Charlie especially down hill. This was only his 2nd trail ride wif Charlie. They need to get more used to each other as trail buddies. Hopefully, if the weather holds out this weekend, there can be longer trail rides in the Park. Juni & I aren't allowed at the barn. We overhears the barn stuff when daddy talks to mommy.

Well, just wanted to keep woo all up-to-date & let woo all know that we are still around.

Charlie Horse's Family Reunion

It all started back during the week when mommy was recovering from her last surgery. A horsie friend, Nancy, called up very upset to tell mommy & daddy that her horsie suddenly died. She wanted to know if they knew anyone who was selling a horsie like mommy’s Charlie Horse. Daddy called up Charlie’s breeder. They had a Rocky Mt. little mare named Jody (half sister to Charlie wif the same father) who had a very giving personality. Mommy & daddy went with Nancy & her hubby to Ohio to where Charlie came from to see & ride Jody.

It was love at first sight. Nancy found her new trail buddy.

Daddy got to talking with mommy that he hasn’t enjoyed riding for well over a year cuz he hurts too much in the saddle when riding Cutter & if he wanted to continue to ride, he would have to change to a gaited horse. (The difference between a regular horse & a gaited horse: 1. regular horse trots & your body goes in an up-&-down motion, sometimes pretty rough depending on the horse; 2. on a gaited horse, like a Rocky Mt., the horse moves from side-to-side in a rocking very smooth motion which is easier on your legs & body, at least to the older, more mature horse folks!) He doesn’t hurt when he rides Charlie. Daddy & Charlie had some rides in the Park the weekend after Cutter left.

Sos they got to talking about finding a new home for his Cutter. Again, daddy called up Dan, Charlie’s breeder, to see if he heard about any other Rocky horsies for sale. Dan had in-training a Rocky gelding named Dustys B-Light & they call him Bud ( a full bruther to Charlie) who was also for sale.

Sos the Saturday of Easter weekend daddy & mommy went back to Ohio fur daddy to test ride Bud. Easter Sunday evening mommy sent an email to all of their trail riding club members that Cutter was for sale. Two days later daddy got a call that Cutter’s previous owners wanted him back. They had originally sold him to a friend who had wanted Cutter for his son. But the agreement was if it didn’t work out he would be returned to them. The person turned around & sold Cutter to daddy. These people told daddy that they had been wanting Cutter back & regretted ever letting him go to that other man. He had been with us for over 9 yrs. It turned out to be a happy ending cuz Cutter will live out his life on his previous home wif his own stall & pastures to kick up his heels in. Mommy did some major crying, we heard, when they came to trailer Cutter away. (Those spots are raindrops - it started to rain pretty hard when they loaded Cutter into the trailer.

Daddy, mommy, & Nancy left last Friday night to go pick up Bud & Jody. Saturday morning Nancy & daddy went out on a little ride with their new trail buddies in Ohio.

Daddy test-riding Bud in Ohio. Look at the big grin on his face on daddy's face! He said that his knees didn't hurt. Bud is shorter than Charlie & easier fur daddy to get up on him. He needs to put on a good bit of weight. The owner before Bud came back to the breeder only had him on grass feeding out in a field. He'll get lots of TLC from The Mullin Clan & our barn owners to get his weight where it should be.

They were back in Pittsburgh by 8:00pm. Jody is 10 yrs. old & older than Charlie by just a few months – she is a Spring horsie, where Charlie was born in the Fall. Bud will be turning 7 at the end of this month. While daddy & Nancy were getting Jody & Bud set up in their stalls in their new home, mommy gots to ride her Charlie around the property.

Sos, our mommy & daddy were just gone overnight. They returned very, very tired but full of hugs & kissies fur us. Then we put them to bed sos they could get some sleep.

THEY ARE GOING - WHERE!!!!!!

We just overheard that mommy & daddy are going away overnight to visit Charlie Horse's family in Ohio. AND, we are not invited to go. THAT IS SO NOT FAIR CUZ WE ARE PART OF THIS FAMILY, TOO!! We overheard that are hum-sis, Erin, will be spending the night wif us. Over the past couple of weeks a lot has been going on over here - on the horsie & neighs front - so we will let you know alls about it when we can get back on the puter.

Oh my heart is just beating wif joy! I found my one true luv -- & she is Summer frum Team Husky. Our lonely hearts just found each other. I asked Summer if she would consider me fur her boyfriend -- & she said YES! I knew that her bro, Prince, is very important to her. Sos I pawed off a pee-mail to Prince asking him if he minded me being Summer's boyfriend. And, he welcomed me to the family! A-Roo, was I in a dither until I heard back frum him. My paws were all sweaty!

My dear sweet, Summer, oh woo, I do wish that we could meet & be together!

I can dream about us being together, tho, & maybe sumday we can meet.

Pee Ess - Just fur the record, I am not a 2-timing guy! You can say that Codie & I are only at the friends stage. She has a lot going on at home wif her new bruther & her mom being busy. She hasn't answered any of my notes or talked to me fur a long, long time. Sos, Codie you are a great gal & I wish you all the best! I hopes that we can still be friends.

The Case of the All-Over Fluff

Sherlock Cosmos here!

It has come to my attention that no sooner does mommy or daddy sweep the rugs in our house, the fluff falls faster than ever. Hmmmm & it is not from me as of yet, nor is it from mommy (wrong color - it’s not red!) or daddy (he needs all the hair that he has!), then it can be none other than from the demon-goliath-puppy, Juneau!!

We gots a new vacuum cleaner called the Hoover Legacy Pet Vac Rewind w/Pet Hair Tool. It does a great job, except hunks of Juni’s fur falls out faster than they can sweep. It has a special attachment to pick up our doggy fur. Sos Juni & I can visit & cuddle wif mommy & daddy on the bed & then they use the attachment to suck up all of the loose fur when we gets down.

This is what mommy got out of Juni after he was "furminated" & he is still dropping hunks all over the place.

Oh, the joys of having Siberian Huskies during shedding season!
